Updating the O*NET-SOC Taxonomy: Incorporating the 2018 SOC Structure

This report describes the O*NET-SOC 2019 taxonomy structure based on the 2018 SOC. A summary of the taxonomy revision process and implementation of resulting changes is provided. The O*NET-SOC 2019 incorporates the alignment of codes, titles, and definitions with the 2018 SOC. In addition, 12 new detailed O*NET-SOC occupations were added to the O*NET-SOC 2019 taxonomy, including 4 new and emerging (N&E) occupations in the cybersecurity industry. The appendices below outline the O*NET-SOC 2019 taxonomy and changes that occurred while transitioning from the O*NET-SOC 2010 taxonomy structure.
